Cecilia Borgenstam is a Swedish-born artist based in San Francisco. She received a BA in Literature and Cultural Studies from the University of Lund, Sweden, and worked as an advertising executive and web text editor in the UK before deciding to work full time on her art.
In 2015 she received her MFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute, where she has also worked as a photography instructor in the public educations program. She is currently working as Richard Misrach's studio manager, and devoting the rest of her time to her personal art projects.
Her photographs has been exhibited in shows nationwide, and have been in the jury's selection on several occasions, most recently at the Center for Photography in Woodstock, curated by Elizabeth Ferrer. She was awarded 3rd place in the Paul Sack Building competition in 2014 and an honorable mention in 2015.
