Cecilia Borgenstam is a Swedish-born artist based in San Francisco. She received a BA in Literature and Cultural Studies from the University of Lund, Sweden, and worked as an advertising executive and web text editor in the UK before deciding to work full time on her art.

In 2015 she received her MFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute where she worked with esteemed photographers as Hank Wessel, John Priola, Meghann Riepenhoff, John Chiara and Linda Connor.

Her work has been exhibited in shows nationwide and has been the juror's selection in exhibitions by Ann Jastrab, Laura Valenti, Jack Fulton, Stephen Perloff and Millee Tibbs. She was awarded 3rd place in the Paul Sack Building competition in 2014 and an honorable mention in 2015.

Cecilia’s work relates to her intimate relationship with landscape, domesticity and the inherent sentimentality of photographic images. Her current work explores the impermanence of possessions in temporary transient camps in the Golden Gate Park.
